Tracy,
It looks like an “outdated” law that was created in 1986 has built “roadblocks” in the creation of a “fair” Williamson County school rezoning . House Bill 1236 of the Private Acts of 1987, Chapter 53.
I’m sure you will agree with me that ALL children in middle Tennessee need to be exposed to economic, racial and cultural diversity. It’s stated on the Nissan Diversity Initiative that:
“The richness of diversity is woven into our performance and global experience, and that richness should be reflected in the communities where we work and live,
??? Can you please check into “ending” segregation in Williamson County, Tennessee.
In July 2009 at the beginning of The Girl in the Black Honda aka “My Battle of Human Decency” I told Mr. Tavares my goal was for the concept of *Respect of ALL People* to shine beyond the confines of the Nissan North America Building.
My goal is to make people Williamson County a little more “kind” to those that moved here from all over the world.
The excessive school rezonings have affected many Nissan employees that relocated to Tennessee> Also, helping the school board in the removal of a “roadblock” that creates segregation is a way for Nissan to “give back” to the community.
Have A Great Day!!!
