To be “candid” personally I would want my child at Centennial especially if ALL the cultural diversity was “herded” there. For her to be successful in life she needs to be exposed to ALL types of people.

This "skirt" believes NOW more than ever that Mr. Looney and the school board cannot “cater” to the conservative element. There’s a reason “integration” happened in America in the 60’s, Williamson County needs to show:

Coach Says He Was Fired Because of Conservative Song

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Music City is full of songwriters, hoping to land that big break. But
a now former Middle school football coach in Williamson County said
writing a politically-charged country song got him fired, after it
rubbed a few parents the wrong way.
26 year old Bryan Glover is not shy about his political opinions. He is proud tea party Republican and felt compelled
to voice his disappointment in the current administration through his
music. But he never thought sharing his new song would leave him
unemployed.
The song is called, "When You're Holding A Hammer, Everything Looks Like A Nail." It is a reference to Glover's
frustrations with the current administration and President Obama. Glover
co-wrote the tune with a parent on the Grassland Middle School football
team. He never thought sending it out to friends, family and player's
parents could put the hammer on the nail of his job with the school.
"Here we are a week before the season starts and they call and say I am no longer with the staff. It's devastating
for me," said Glover.
It all stems from an email Glover sent through his personal Yahoo account.
"I sent it 99 percent of the people in my inbox-- all the way from my mom to people I haven't spoken to in years," said Glover.
But the email, with a link to his new song, went out to a hand full of parents of kids on the Grassland Football Team.
Within hours, parents called the school to complain of the politically charged lyrics and Glover said the principal
at Grassland Middle School told the head football coach to release
Glover from his position with the team.
"He just said parents were complaining, maybe there was a comment of racial overtones," Glover said,
"I found it amusing," said parent Michael Kasaitis about Glover's country song.
He said no matter the opinion on his music, the link was sent from his personal email account and it is free speech.
"I was totally upset. He has every right to write a song, write a book or to make his opinion known," said Kasaitis.
The Superintendent of Williamson County Schools refused to say why Glover was fired, but he did speculate it
could be an issue of how he obtained the parents email addresses.
"If someone is sending an email to parents using our system or knowledge you obtained through our system, you are
limited in what kind of message you can send to parents, " said Dr. Mike
Looney.
Glover, however, is confident it was the conservative lyrics and his strong stance as a Republican that left him
without his team or a job.
Dr. Looney said the only way Glover would get his coaching job back before the team's first game next week was if the
principal decides to change her mind.

Great song, and oh so true! Firing this talented singer and truth-teller is an outrage.
Guess it shows which side the school stands on, doesn't it? They need to be "nails," too.
Don't forget- the National Education Association has on its website a recommendation to buy and read Saul Alinksy's Rules for Radicals !

Not typical of most of we 'Volunteers', and that county in general. I lived in Franklin for the better patr of 10 years.Was a very conservative district when I lived there. But like most areas in the US, people are more interested in their own lives then they are to taking care of business of government.
I did go to the WCS site from the link above and looked at their acceptable use policies. Had he sent this out from the scool email, then he would have been in the wrong:
"10. Email
The Williamson County Schools email system has been provided for the internal and external communication of employees and board members. Responsible and ethical use of the email system is required. The email system may not be used for personal gain, or political or religious views or in any illegal, offensive or unethical manner. The email system is intended only for valid and legitimate Williamson County Schools related communication.
Williamson County Schools does reserve the right to access any employee’s e-mail for any business purpose, and also for inspection for disciplinary or legal actions."
Nowhere could I see where use of email addresses or knowledge of them would be addressed. In addition, there is now way to determine how he aquired those addresses. They may have come via someone's joke list (some of those emails are a spammer's dream!)

That is what it is going to take for us to win this fight. Stand firm, and don't give one inch. I would tell my kids don't ever let me hear you sing a song to or about that low life. and what is up with the Parents not being able to go in a School? I am hearing that more and more. I would absolutely refuse to let my kids go where I can not any time I want to. What are they trying to hide from parents?

Good songby Bryan Glover. It should get national air play. It reminds me of some of the patriotic songs that Toby Keith did before he went lefty-goofy. I think one of the conservative legal foundations like Judicial Watch should take up Bryan Glover's case and take the school district to court. The ACLU sure won't!!!!
In the meantime, we need to support budding conservative artists like this. Wouldn't it have been nice if Rush Limbaugh hired a musician like Bryan Glover instead of homosexual rock star Dame Elton John to play at his wedding reception? Some talking heads these days are just that -- they talk a good line, but cop-out where the rubber hits the road! We need to hold them to the same standards we hold ourselves, and if their actions don't match their rhetoric we should tune them out!
You should go watch the Toby Keith interview at the National Press Club. Although he admits to being a democrat, he does denounce the Left Loons in that interview. Toby Keith is a great Patriot who gives a lot of time to our Troops and is
always doing something for them.

I just wrote to all of them too, and cc'd the news reporter. They should hear from tens of thousands of us on this issue! I agree, this kinda stuff must be STOPPED NOW!!!
Jennie - if you have followed this discussion all the way through you will see a couple of replies I got from the board. I can already easily see the dissentiion among them. One was amiable, another was scathing. However, you are sure right. Look where the schools and colleges we pay for have gone since the 40's. It's not a very pretty picture, is it?
It is my most sincere hope that there is a new awakening in America. We must NEVER forgot where we have been, where we are and, maybe most importantly, where we do NOT want to go!

I think Dr. Looney's comment concerning using anything gained from the School District is very telling: " you can't use anything obtained from the District." This apparently will apply to the fake knowledge they give to their students. It would be interesting to know the racial identity of these complaining parents; for I believe it is an indication of racist hate mongers who don't wish anyone to tell the truth about their failure "President." Tennessee used to be a State we could count on for Volunteers when trouble was brewing, now I am not so sure that they can be trusted with the time of day. Might also be that the real Volunteers need to take a stand and vote out all these Communist sympathizers, and send them back to New England where they belong. And get rid of the School Board that hired that retarded Principal, she needs some re-education opposed to her Communist upbringing.

Pam, I just sort of "spot check" emails I receive on a given topic. Glad I spotted yours, which led me to look at Mr. Holzhey's. Looking at in in toto, I feel he meant no harm. HOWEVER, it IS an indoctrinated attitude, less mentioned (by FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR) than racism, but more prevalent, actually. Guess it goes all the way back to the Civil War.
Being a native Alabamian myself, I would have felt the need, had I seen his post before yours, to chunk a few aspersions in his direction, but you've done it more appropriately than I might have. We ARE the bastion of Conservatism . . . so what the hell's the wrong with so many states that are NOT Dixie affiliated?

Hiring and firing decisions of coaches belong to principals. Also, while it would be highly inappropriate to share private personnel details, suffice it to say that the story that ran in the media has no basis in truth. Since I am not in a position to expound upon an individual's private personnel matters, and I will not respond further. Unfortunately, the conclusion I presume you are drawing from your statement, as applied to these facts, are not accurate. What is disappointing is that the media, in the name of selling a good story, made no effort to inquire of the facts but promoted what was appealing.

My sympathies to the coach. PC is BS. I teach at a community college. Although I do gaurd what I say somewhat (I don't ever deliberately talk down to people) but most here know that I speak plainly and truthfully. I do not believe you can stifle someone's freedom of speech just because they are on your property, but I think that you can have them arrested for trespassing. Then again, it is hard to tell with these last two presidents. Bush gave us "free speech zones" and obama's lap dog pe-lousy wants to have any that speak out against her masters policies investigated as criminal, subversive, un-American terrorists.
Ok I loved the song and the lyrics are entirely appropriate and true. That said, the dude got fired because he'd stupid. Hey I love the song and want a copy of it Oh yea and as for his being fired? Why in hell would he want to work for a school system that thinks like this one does? I think maybe they did him a favor here. I know he was there for the kids but kids tend to immulate parents and you can bet these kids are lost before they are ever given a chance to be found with parents that thinks this man should have been fired. And there is nothing anyone can do about this. He need s a good lawyer to fight this fight. This school system is not going to change their mind unless a judge tells them to. Just my opinion though.
I'll say one thing . . . I took up lyric writing a few years back -- a complete novice. Now that I know more about the craft than the average bear, I can say that this is a polished, pro-type lyric, and the tune ain't bad neither! Didn't have time to read the article, but I sure hope this guy has the copyright and makes a bunch off of this. The pub, no matter how bad, is good.

I hope Mr. Glover, a true patriot, reaps the benefits of this song as a #1 hit. Shame on the school board for their cowardess and shame on the parents who could have just deleted the song if they were so "offended " as true lilly livered liberals are. Dear liberal bureacrats and lib whiners who called the school board for this patriots termination: You are the reason this country is turning deaf ears on your leftist whack job ideals and in 66 days, you will hear America! Mr. Glover no doubt will be invited on every talk show circuit from Hannity to Beck, and perhaps Hannity's Freedom concert? I feel very strongly that Mr. Glover's unemployment status will indeed be short lived. I loved the song and to a lib, such truths about their annointed one certainly turn their blind eye from the sight of a majority of angry Americans who are disgusted with the lackluster backbone displayed from Socialist #44 and his socialist rats on a sinking ship. I have sent this youtube to the attention of recording studio folks I know and hope this will propel this patriot to stardom. I am happy to say, those I know have been flooded with this song already.

Mr. Glover, may God Bless you, your family & friends, and certainly your talents as a patriot and songwriter. I am sure a majority of Franklin County folks will come to your aid over this outrage. Once again this exposes what liberals truly are as destroyers of the Constitution, diminishers of personal freedoms and as theives of our hard earned money .

Bless this land of ours that soon life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness shall indeed prevail over those dwindling socialist lot who want to compromise what our founders and framers desired for Americans to have over 250 years ago.
